Vaping industry has suffered quite a lot in the last few years. The impious claims from the mainstream media has been a major influencer here.

So if you are interested in learning more about vapes and want to distinguish between the myths and reality in terms of vaping, you are at the right page.

Below are the biggest and most commonplace myths we hear every day which have been debunked:

  • Ingredients are dangerous:
The most common of all myths about vape is that e-liquids are dangerous and the ingredients are harmful for you. Let me mention the ingredients in e-liquids used in vapes so it brings about a sense of relief for all. Depending on what you vape, there are about 3-4 ingredients used- propylene glycol, vegetable glycerin, natural or artificial food grade flavouring and nicotine, which is optional. We will come to nicotine in the next point, but let’s focus on propylene glycol first. Propylene glycol is used in anti-freeze, which according to skeptical people is a false claim. This ingredient is not only used in vape juice, but it is used in fireball whiskey also. Hospitals also use propylene glycol to keep the areas sanitized.

  • Nicotine content:
Not all vapes have nicotine content. You can always customize e-liquids according to the level of nicotine you want in the vape juice, which can vary from zero to any level up to 2.4%. Also, people think nicotine is carcinogenic, which is untrue. Studies are unable to successfully link the cause of cancer to the nicotine content in cigarettes.

  • Vaping and Cigarettes:
When people compare vaping and cigarettes, they tend to forget that there are so many differences between the both that the comparison is unrelated. Vape juice has only four ingredients whereas cigarettes have so many chemicals. Smoking cigarettes cause a greater elevation in blood pressure and heart rate compared to vapes. Vapes do not hinder a person’s breathing or endurance performance, whereas cigarette smoking often leads to the above and additionally, impairs diastolic functions.

  • Addiction of Vaping:
People have gone to an extent where they think that e-cigarettes are addictive and that non-smokers are also likely to pick up smoking. E-cigarettes do not deliver nicotine as efficiently as regular cigarettes and tobacco smoke, making the former very less addictive. As for the non-smokers, the e-cigarettes are meant to cater those who want to quit smoking instead of the marketing it to the non-smokers or young teenagers.

  • Regulations regarding Vaping products:
State and federal agencies, including the FDA have been keeping a close look on the method of production, quality, sale, age limits and more. Extensive testing is done on the e-liquids to make sure that low quality products do not enter the market.
